There is growing empirical support for the usefulness of mindfulness and relaxation training for the stresses of medical practice and the enhancement of the professional performance of physicians. This presentation will describe an approach to self-regulation training that is a combination of deep relaxation, applied relaxation and mindfulness.

The study examined the curricula at 117 medical schools in the United States and Canada and went beyond a simple analysis of historical presence-or-absence criteria in assessing pain education for medical students.
