MD Connector Partners with Mayo Clinic to sponsor 2009 National Competition on Health Education Reform
ROCHESTER, MN (January 24, 2009) -
MD Connector and Mayo Clinic Health Policy Center have launched a national competition on health education reform. This unique competition is open to pre-medical students, medical students and allied health students. Prizes include $5,000, $3,000, $2,000 and all expense-paid trips to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN to present and actively participate at the 2009 Healthcare Education Reform Symposium on April 26-28, 2009. Essays must address the following question: In order to create a health care workforce equipped to provide a high-value team approach to coordinated, patient-centered health care, what is the most important change required of the health care education system? Participants must be students in U.S. and Canadian accredited schools. Essays may not exceed 2,500 words and must be products of original work with proper citations. Only one submission per person is permitted. Three finalists will be announced on March 23, 2009 and asked to convert their essays into PowerPoint and poster presentations that will be shared at the Education Symposium.
