The authors write: "In addition, medical students have been increasingly offered more exposure to essential topics such as the doctor/patient relationship"

One such form of exposure is our unique course at Stanford called "Medicine and Horsemanship," which teaches beside manner and other interpersonal skills to med students and health care professionals.

We invite you to check out the course at http://familymed.stanford.edu/predoctoral.html and get in touch if you are interested in more info, in conducting a similar course, or in a Grand Rounds or brown bag presentation.

As a keen observer of medical education, I commend you for having proposed policies worthy of implementation in our health care system. With more students like you, America will fix its "broken" health care system. Godspeed.

While I am not a med student or a former Manufacturing/TPS Report engineer, I did find this to be a very interesting view point with suggestions, that if implemented, should seemingly improve the quality of healthcare we do receive.

Paul,

As a current 4th year medical student and a former Manufacturing Engineer, I loved this paper addressing Quality Improvement in medical education and believe strongly that as a whole, the Health Care system poorly institutes measures to address and improve Quality. I thought this article was extremely insightful and I look forward to hearing more about how manufacturing principles may be applied towards medical education.

Great article. Not enough emphasis can be put on interdisciplinary education and improving patient outcomes. Enjoyed thoroughly and look forward to the curriculum being used in the future.

Excellent article and well thought out. Interprofessional Teamwork is imperative for the future of healthcare provision to our clients. As evidence based practice continues the current momentum, we as a nation will have a marked opportunity in growth for our patients, our nation and the world as a whole.
